AI for insights and analytics
An account has fourteen services on the estate record and fourteen on the bill, twelve of them the same: two ghosts still billed after ceasing and two orphans sold by a partner and never recorded. AI analytics reads the estate, billing and order files, and answers sales operations: where does the estate disagree with the bill, and which renewals are being quoted from a wrong record.
These are the questions B2B telecoms providers ask. Each one maps to a measure our tools compute from your files. The AI model chooses the measure and explains the result; the arithmetic is done by our code, and every total is checked.
| The question | The measure behind it | What comes back |
|---|---|---|
| Where does the estate record disagree with the bill? | Estate currency | Services on the estate matched to the bill, with orphans and ghosts listed by account and value. |
| Which services are billed but ceased, or live but unrecorded? | Orphan and ghost services | Ghosts, billed after cease, and orphans, live with no estate record, by account and source. |
| How many of each customer's sites do we serve? | Site penetration | Sites served over sites known, by account, with the unserved sites. |
| Which sites hold one product where similar sites hold three? | Product attach per site | Products per site against the norm for the site type, with the gap. |
| Is every renewal in the window owned and quoted from a current estate? | Renewal calendar coverage | Renewals due with an owner and a quote over renewals due, with estate currency at each. |
| How long from order to activation, and where does it stall? | Order to activation time | Days from order to live by product and stage, with the stalled orders. |
Every figure below was computed by a tool from the rows and checked before it was shown. The lines sum; the percentages match; each line opens to the rows that make it.
How much monthly revenue is affected by estate errors?
Monthly revenue on services where the estate and the bill disagree is $162k across 3 segments, counting both ghosts and orphans. Enterprise segment holds $84k, 52% of it.
| Enterprise segment | $84k | 52% of the total |
| Mid-market segment | $51k | 31% of the total |
| Public sector segment | $27k | 17% of the total |
| The 3 lines sum to | $162k | 0 unexplained |
Which enterprise accounts?
3 accounts hold $67k of the $84k in the Enterprise segment, 80% of it. The largest renews in five months, and its renewal quote was prepared from the estate record, which is 12 of 16 correct.
| Harland Group | $31k | 2 ghosts, 2 orphans; renewal in 5 months |
| Westbrook Logistics | $22k | ghost circuit billed 6 months after cease |
| Kingsway Retail | $14k | orphan mobile bundle sold by a partner |
| These 3 are | $67k | 80% of Enterprise segment |
What does sales operations fix first?
The Harland estate, before the renewal quote goes out: cease the ghost billing, record the orphans, and requote. Then the monthly reconciliation runs on every account renewing in the next two quarters.
| Sales operations | Correct the Harland estate and requote the renewal | This fortnight |
| Billing | Stop the ghost charges on Harland and Westbrook; credit as needed | This week |
| Sales director | Run estate currency on all renewals two quarters out | Monthly |
Each measure has one formula, one source and one meaning. They are computed per account manager and segment and in total, and every one carries an identity that must hold before it is shown.
| Measure | Formula | From | What it tells you |
|---|---|---|---|
| Estate currency | Services agreeing on estate and billing ÷ distinct services on either, per account | Estate record; billing file | Whether the account plan describes reality |
| Site penetration | Customer sites served ÷ customer total sites | Estate record; customer site list | Sites served by a competitor |
| Product attach per site | Products at the site ÷ products relevant to a site of its type | Estate record; billing | Connectivity-only sites |
| Renewal calendar coverage | Contract value ending in 12 months with an owner, a plan and a recent contact ÷ value ending | Contract file; CRM | End dates nobody has in view |
| Order to activation time | Median days from order to live service, against quoted, per customer and product | Order and provisioning system | Customers let down by delivery |
| Sites near capacity | Sites with peak utilisation above the threshold for a sustained period | Usage data | Upgrade conversations before the complaint |
| Revenue retention at renewal | Renewed contract value ÷ prior value, for contracts due; repricing separated from scope | Contract file | Price given away to retain |
| Orphan and ghost services | Billed and not on estate; on estate and not billed; count and value | Estate record; billing file | Unmanaged revenue; wrong records |
| Contact recency by revenue | Revenue of accounts with a two-way contact within cadence ÷ revenue | CRM; billing | Accounts heard from only when something breaks |
| Customer concentration | Top ten customers' share of recurring revenue | Billing | Dependence |
Each measure is worked through, with the export it comes from and what to drop, in Sales KPIs for B2B telecoms providers.
From your question and the measures declared for telecoms and connectivity, the model picks the one that answers it, and the period and comparison the question implies.
Deterministic code reads the rows, computes the measure, and checks the identities below. The same question on the same data gives the same answer, every time.
The AI model writes the sentence around the result, naming the account manager or account behind it. It states no figure that is not in the result, and every figure links to its rows.
| Estate | Estate services = matched + ghosts; billed services = matched + orphans |
| Sites | Customer sites = served + unserved + unknown |
| Contracts | Contracts ending = renewed + lost + in negotiation + not yet contacted |
| Orders | Orders = activated on time + activated late + open + cancelled |
The exports B2B telecoms providers already produce. Column names are mapped once and the mapping is reused. A file is the way in; scheduled delivery and connections to your systems come with the plan, and every source is listed here.
An answer is a list with an owner and a cadence, or it is a chart nobody works.
| Measures | Owner | Cadence |
|---|---|---|
| Renewal calendar coverage; contact recency | Account managers; sales director | Monthly |
| Estate currency; orphans and ghosts | Sales operations with billing | Monthly, with the billing run |
| Order to activation; sites near capacity | Delivery; account managers | Weekly to monthly |
| Site penetration; attach; retention at renewal; concentration | Sales director | Quarterly |
The share of services that appear identically on the estate record and the bill. A service billed after it ceased is a ghost; a live service with no estate record is an orphan. Both come from matching the two files by service identifier, and both are listed by account with their monthly value. Twelve of sixteen is 75 percent.
Because the renewal quote is prepared from the estate record. If the record is wrong, the quote is wrong: it prices ceased services and misses live ones. Running estate currency on every account two quarters before renewal means the quote starts from the truth.
The estate or asset register by account and service, the billing file by service and month, the order file with stages and dates, and the site master. Partner sales files, where partners sell, are where the orphans usually come from.
No. It reports the disagreements with the evidence; billing and sales operations make the corrections. Every ghost and orphan is a row with a service identifier, an account and a value, which is what the correction needs.
