The role pages: ten questions per leader, and where each set lives

A hub for the role pages on this site: for each leader, from CFO and CRO to the head of a trading desk or a foodservice distributor, the ten questions they ask, the tables that answer them, the identity behind each, and the answer to send back. This page lists every role page with the desk it is written for and the first question on it, so a reader can find their own questions in one click.

The short answerEvery leader asks the same shape of question about their desk: which accounts, which suppliers, which partners, which clients need attention, and whether the number in front of them can be trusted. Each role page on this site lists that leader's ten questions, the computed table that answers each, the identity that makes the table trustworthy, and the answer to send back. This hub lists the role pages by leader, with the desk and the first question, so the reader starts at their own.

Every leader has ten questions about their desk and a way of asking them. The role pages on this site list, per leader, the questions, the tables, the identities and the answers to send back. This hub is the index: the leader, the desk, the first question, and the page.

What every role page shares

  • Ten questions, in the order the leader should ask them.
  • One computed table per question, from exports the company already has.
  • The identity that makes the table trustworthy.
  • The answer to send back.
  • One worked exchange: three questions, three tables, no adjectives.

Where it goes wrong

Reading another role's page. The same table, the wrong reason.

Skipping sales operations. Every other page's tables rest on its checks.

Questions asked without the tables. Answered from memory, confidently.

Send-backs accepted. The average, the percentage with no denominator, the manager's account of their own book.

Start at your own role

Covirage produces the tables on every role page from the desk's own exports, with the identities checked. The coverage intelligence definition covers the five measures the tables are built from, and the KPI definitions page has the formula behind each.

Questions people ask

Why write by role rather than by measure?

Because a CFO and a CRO read the same concentration table for different reasons, and each wants to find their reason without reading the other's. The measure pages explain the arithmetic; the role pages say which measures answer which leader's questions, in the leader's order.

What is the answer to send back?

The figure a leader should refuse: an average where the table has rows, a percentage with no denominator, a claim with no identity, a portfolio described by its manager from memory. Each role page names them beside the table that replaces them.

Which page first?

The reader's own role. A head of sales operations reads theirs before any other, because every other role's tables rest on the checks it lists.
