This analytics statement-of-work template turns a proposed reporting engagement into a reviewable scope. What to enter

On Scope, enter deliverable ID, concise output, boundary, responsible party, acceptance-specification reference, handover reference, approver and approval date. Milestones holds milestone ID, linked deliverable ID, due date, USD fee, acceptance status and date, and invoice approval. References point to the agreed documents rather than duplicating a full legal contract or test plan inside cells.

Use the workbook

  1. Define the reporting question, source perimeter and deliverables with clear exclusions. Identify who supplies data, resolves exceptions and approves the result.
  2. Link each deliverable to an acceptance specification and handover record, then record the agreed approver and date.
  3. Allocate fees to milestones. Record acceptance and invoice approval separately, and review the calculated readiness before treating any amount as ready to invoice.

Keep the amber inputs separate from the pale blue calculation columns. The worksheet has 20 prefilled detail rows, from 13 through 32. If you need more records, extend every affected formula and summary range together, then check a first, middle and final row. Save a dated working copy before replacing the sample.

The synthetic example

The sample quotes $2,000 for source review, $5,000 for a customer-growth report and $3,000 for handover, totaling $10,000. Only the $2,000 source-review milestone is accepted and invoice-approved against an agreed deliverable. The report milestone is accepted but invoice approval is No, so it remains Pending invoice approval. The workbook therefore shows $2,000 ready, not $7,000. These are synthetic fees, not Covirage prices.

How the results update

A deliverable becomes Agreed only when its boundary, responsibility, acceptance and handover references, approver and approval date are present. A milestone needs exactly one linked scope record, an agreed scope, documented acceptance and invoice approval before its fee enters Ready amount. The Scope summaries link to the milestone totals. A completed acceptance field cannot erase a remaining invoice-approval prerequisite.

Limits and a useful next step

The template is a scope worksheet, not legal drafting advice, a signed agreement or a promise of free analysis. It does not collect payments, recognize revenue or determine whether acceptance criteria were actually passed. The parties need to agree data handling, confidentiality, liability, change control and any terms required for their engagement in appropriate documents. Use this artifact to make the proposed work concrete before committing to it.

Questions people ask

Is the sample real customer data?

No. Every identifier, amount and policy choice in the sample is synthetic. Replace the sample before using the workbook for your own review.

Which cells should I change?

Edit the amber input cells. Keep the pale blue calculated columns and summary formulas. The prefilled detail area supports rows 13 through 32; extend formulas and summary ranges together for a larger file.

Does this download connect to my systems?

No. It is a manual Excel workbook. If you want to discuss recurring reporting, bring one question and the relevant file structure to Covirage.
