This whitespace opportunity validation log records what happens when a person checks a suggested customer/product gap. It connects each candidate to evidence, a reviewer and a disposition. The live summary shows the confirmed share of conclusive reviews and the value attached to confirmed candidates. It helps a manager distinguish a useful analytical lead from an opportunity that has never been checked.
Use a stable candidate ID and record the customer ID, product, original estimated gap, disposition, evidence reference, reviewer and review date. Keep the original estimate in place when a candidate is rejected, so the review explains what the list originally proposed. Choose Not eligible for a documented rejection, Unknown when evidence cannot settle the question, and Unreviewed before anyone checks it.
Keep the amber inputs separate from the pale blue calculation columns. The worksheet has 20 prefilled detail rows, from 13 through 32. If you need more records, extend every affected formula and summary range together, then check a first, middle and final row. Save a dated working copy before replacing the sample.
The five sample rows include one confirmed $50,000 gap, one rejected $70,000 gap, one unknown, one unreviewed and one purported confirmation with missing evidence. There are two conclusive reviewed candidates, of which one is confirmed, giving 50.0%. Only $50,000 enters confirmed estimated gaps. Adding the missing evidence to OP-05 changes its result and updates both the count and value.
A review result requires evidence, reviewer and date as well as its human disposition. Duplicate candidate IDs are flagged instead of being counted twice. The confirmed-share denominator includes Confirmed and Rejected results only. Unknown and incomplete outcomes stay visible in the detail. This is a descriptive result for the recorded sample; the workbook does not assign probabilities to untouched candidates.
Confirmation establishes a candidate for a conversation under your stated review criteria. It does not establish willingness to buy, product availability, a quoted price or contribution. A nonrandom sample may give an optimistic result. Keep the sampling approach and rejected reasons when comparing versions. The workbook records the review manually and does not contact customers, assign work or update CRM stages.
For the underlying method, read whitespace analysis. how to present a gap to a customer covers the adjacent question. If you want to review the required fields and one reporting output, discuss your setup. Views depend on your records and agreed definitions.
No. Every identifier, amount and policy choice in the sample is synthetic. Replace the sample before using the workbook for your own review.
Edit the amber input cells. Keep the pale blue calculated columns and summary formulas. The prefilled detail area supports rows 13 through 32; extend formulas and summary ranges together for a larger file.
No. It is a manual Excel workbook. If you want to discuss recurring reporting, bring one question and the relevant file structure to Covirage.
